Ready to paw-tee, America? Arden Moore unleashes National Dog Party Day!

In 24 hours, Arden Moore, founder of Four Legged, will unleash the very first celebration of National Dog Party Day on not one, but two coasts. Arden, author of Dog Parties: How to Party with Your Pup, loves bringing out the best in pets and their people all over North America. So, she came up with the idea of creating a new national holiday — National Dog Party Day.

Arden purposely partnered with her friends at Pet Sitters International, sponsors of the annual Take Your Dog to Work Day. The result: a Double Dog Day Celebration on June 24, 2011. During the day, people will celebrate Take Your Dog to Work Day and at night, they will celebrate National Dog Party Day. In other words, you get the chance to “work like a dog by day and party like a pup at night.”

This is a party with a purpose — to raise money and awareness of the need to adopted dogs, cats and other companion animals at animal shelters. This year’s benefactors of National Dog Party Day will be the San Diego Humane Society and the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. The events take place simultaneously from 7-10 p.m. EST in New York City at the Fetch Club and from 4-7  p.m. PST in San Diego at the pet-welcoming Hotel Indigo.

To attend, you must RSVP and space is limited — so don’t doddle!

A $10 donation (or more) is suggested with proceeds benefiting the two pet charities.
